Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are a lot of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles out there, but there has to be a thing that you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? Something which triggered a transformation or a major healing. So, that which was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Consider your daily life as it is apparently in this world with regards to the story. Just how do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I believe my safety lies? a course in miracles books How will I be sustained? Who’s my source?” So when we speak about the past stage of the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon many of these made-up concepts, beliefs, and ideas in the world. It’s kind of like creating a big house of cards, stacking on one card following the other. Then the good wind arrives and poof, it’s only blown over. It can’t even stand a little gust of wind. It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. It’s so transitory; It had been this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon everything else; all those things that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It really comes down to the essence of who’s my buddy? Is it Spirit or matter? Is it Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried this 1?So you’re asking the question, “When someone dies or is apparently dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all of this is heading is always to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will highlight is that everything is mental and that everything is really a hallucination. This really is a world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There’s no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to construct his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the connection between thought and form. His lessons begin with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all the meaning it’s for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way as much as number four, “These thoughts don’t mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s referring to thoughts. First He’s referring to perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes back with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts don’t mean anything.” You will see he’s attempting to melt everything together and show the past veil or stage of awakening, that is trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time and energy to teach us there is no such thing as time, to take us back to that particular timeless moment that’s the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to show us they are all illusions and they are all equally meaningless. That’s the method of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work with your head to loosen the attachments from the investment in all sorts of things. What sort of things would you purchase, in this world?
